Ronald was introduced to these beautiful mountain scenes when he traveled from his Carolina home through Virginia Tennesee to Ft. Knox, Kentucky, where he was fortunate to serve as an Army artist. Ronald illustrated himself behind the plow with these huge but gentle 2500 pound Belgian horses.
